When we arrived we were greeted by a very unwelcoming woman, who after we checked in and had had questions about places to see and asked if she had any recommendations, she was totally unhelpful! We arrived at out room, which was done very cheaply., although very beautiful setting. We took the train to another town for dinner since there was no options in or around the hotel, and were told by hotel to call from train station and no one answered as we called many times. We had to find our way back. When we returned to our room , wanted to take a bath, and there was no hot water. I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive thing I can say about it was the setting is beautiful.

Duoro Suites is just perfect in every way. They have an exquisite location, an amazing food menu that you can have in the garden or poolside in a picnic basket. Their staff is the best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. Their attention to detail is just perfect. I could not recommend them more. Everything is truly perfect. PS: I forgot my AirPods in the room and they called to alert me and offered to send them to my next destination free of charge.

We stayed in the lake villa and it was paradise. Breakfast is wonderful and we also enjoyed our picnic dinner one night. The villa was comfortable with a great view. It is very quiet which is exactly what we wanted. We will be back.

Me and my girlfriend had never gone to Douro suites but we will 100% be going back Amazing experience fantastic service and views to the mountains and Lake, the staff are super helpful and friendly, everything you need is within the hotel

Great little resort on the Douro! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as relaxing as possible. The picnic baskets were delicious - we ordered the arroz de pato and lasagna. Will be back!

I don’t even know where to begin. This is potentially the nicest, best place I’ve ever stayed. It is so serene and beautiful, it almost feels like a private villa. We were lucky to be two of the only people there mid-week in September. The staff is so incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast is AMAZING and beautifully presented. The level of detail in decor and experiences is astounding. Our 30-minute sailboat ride came with a complimentary mini bottle of Prosecco and a crystal jar of cookies. The only thing to note is it’s quite far from the heart of the Douro wine region where most of the vineyards and tastings are. We knew that going in, so we had a wonderful time staying secluded at the hotel except for one day trip to a quinta in Paso de Régua about an hour away. Highly, highly recommend!

AMAZING! The best hotel of my life, and I travel a lot! Super clean, a really kind staff and a delicious breakfast with a view. We stayed on the Lake House, and it was like a honey moon. They send the dinner in a picnic box to us ❤️ Comfortable and romantic!
